Benjamin Lye


Benjamin Lye is an actor and theatre-maker.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours (Highest Distinction) from the National University of Singapore, majoring in Theatre Studies. Benjamin completed the Young & Wild acting program under the mentorship of Edith Podesta in 2019, and he currently serves as the administrator for the program.

His television credits include Dream School (OKTO), and theatre credits encompass The Secret Life of Haw Par Villa (Patch & Punnet), Agamemnon (Gateway Theatre), Duckie Can't Swim (Paper Monkey Theatre), Mr Dong. Guo (Paper Monkey Theatre), A Christmas Sketch Show: The Naughty List (Ugly on Paper), and Anything Can Happen/Something Must Happen (WILD RICE).

Benjamin recently directed a devised piece titled Like a Whisper under The Necessary Stage’s Devising with Actors and Playwrights 2023 programme. His assistant directing credits include Pompeii (SIFA 2023), Inconsequential Goddess (Esplanade Commissioned), and Die Walküre (OMM).

In his free time, he loves to play with cats and dreams of being a tai-tai one day.
