Masterclass by SITI Company

The SITI Company is renowned for its unique approach to theatre training, based on a symbiotic pairing of the Suzuki Method of Actor Training and the practice of Viewpoints. While each training is unique in its history and approach, and has been developed independently, they both share hallmarks that include collaboration, rigour as well as addressing the meeting point where the individual encounters the ensemble.

Join this masterclass with senior performers from the SITI Company – co-artistic director Ellen Lauren and actor Barney O'Hanlon – as they conduct an afternoon session of two workshops, offering a holistic insight into the company's training methodologies.

In the Suzuki Method Training Workshop, experience this rigorous physical discipline developed by internationally acclaimed director, Tadashi Suzuki and the Suzuki Company of Toga. The training seeks to heighten the actor's emotional and physical power and commitment to each moment on the stage.

Foster a sense of ensemble, as well as develop your sensitivity on stage through the Viewpoints Training. Originally developed by the choreographer Mary Overlie, the SITI Company has expanded this approach for theatre artists, allowing you to expand your emotional, intellectual and physical flexibility and collaborate spontaneously and intuitively.

  • All classes offer demanding physical work and theoretical research.
  • Applicants should come in good health and are expected to fully participate in all classes.
  • Please complete and submit the form.
  • Shortlisted applicants will be informed via email within 5 working days to purchase tickets.
