About the Artists

Chan Sze-Wei
Sze-Wei is a dance maker, film and video artist, researcher, arts journalist and mum. Their practice for the stage and screen is focused on perception, sensation and the knowledge of the human body, in connection with the politics and history of the body. They have shown dance films and live creations in Singapore and internationally, and have appeared in Singapore and international dance and theatre productions. Sze-Wei is a member of the Cinemovement collective and was an Associate Member at Dance Nucleus Singapore from 2017-2020.
Norhaizad Adam
NORHAIZAD ADAM is a Malay dancer, dance artist, and performance maker who was born, raised, and currently living in Singapura. His work talks about morality and behaviorism in the Malay Culture, within the context of post-colonialism and socio-political change. He reimagines and uses the Malay folk form as a strategy to navigate society’s systemic structures and stereotypes. Currently, he is the Artistic Director of P7:1SMA, a dance performance company that radically shifts the perspective of Malay and dance through intimate and innovative performance experiences. He has presented his work in Italy (Venice International Performance Art week), Australia (Mapping Melbourne), Taipei (Asia Discovers Asia Meeting), France (Paris Summer Academy), Austria (ImPulsTanz), Indonesia (NuArt), and notable events in Singapura.
P7:1SMA Ltd.
Formed in 2016, P7:1SMA (pronounced as Prisma) is a dance performance company that embodies traditional and contemporary practices. Our body of work advocates for the relevance of culture across communities. We use dance to confront and reimagine the Malay’s relationship to their identity through intimate experiences.
